A Whimsical
Sculpture Exhibition
1 - 13 August
Opening: 1 August, Friday, 18:00-21:00
Port art Gallery hosts Cemal Bodur's 'Tools' exhibition.
These works has the common ground of having been created by a designer's
logic. They combine the use of everyday tools with the human elements
-especially the female body-, and become the playful, whimsical
and aesthetical. By breaking the notion of "untouchability
of the artwork", these works gain a symbolic utility to be
an active part of daily life. The show can be visited in Port Art
Gallery, located at Port Göcek Marina, every day from 9:00
to 22:00.
Architect - Designer - Sculptor, Cemal Bodur was born in 1945 in

a wide interest from many artlovers and collectors.
A well-known Turkish writer, Ferit Edgü, describes Bodur's

"Plyers, compass, hammer, axe... You will see that these familiar
tools have new lives, because the hands of an artist with an extensive
imagination touched them." |
